Liz Meets Nashville

Before setting out on my worldwide adventure, I took a trip to Nashville to visit some friends. “Music City” is the wildest, friendliest, coolest place in the south, sans New Orleans. Here’s how I spent my time:

Predator’s Game

After landing I met up with my Nashville crew and we were off to Bridgestone Arena, ready to watch the Nashville Predators take on the Anaheim Ducks. The crowd was amped up and I saw a few good goals (and fights, who doesn’t love fights)! After the game we headed to a bar for some darts and beer and more beer.

Country Life

When you visit friends you’re never a tourist, you’re a guest. And when you’re a guest you get invited to do cool stuff. That’s how I found myself at a lake for the day. For November, the weather was pretty sweet and while I’m not a fan of guns I was even able to exercise my second amendment right a bit that day.

On the drive back to the city we got stuck in traffic and decided to make the most of our time. Check out our tribute to Music City, aka car ride shenanigans:

The Standard Club

It was quite a privilege to visit one of the premier cigar clubs in the US, The Standard. The club is located in the Smith House which is the only remaining townhouse in downtown Nashville. I was able to tour, drink excellent wine, and eat delicious food. While I had the good fortune to check out the member’s only area, the main floor is open to all for dinner and those interested in a full tour should ask!

Broadway

Broadway is the main street in downtown Nashville. Like New York’s Broadway, it’s full of tourists who’ve come for the music, but it’s a bit different down there. While most of the music is country, I made my way to Big Bang in order to mix it up with dueling pianos. The performers were so talented I stayed there on two separate nights just to see what was going on. I also recommend visiting The Stage and Honky Tonk.

A big ‘thank you’ to my friends and my hosts for a wonderful trip! I was able to see what southern hospitality is all about. I ❤ Nashville and look forward to my next trip back!
